Do you love Irish singing? Traditional Americana? British Folk? Then this singers’ club is for you. This singing tradition is has somewhat faded in America, but it still happens all over Ireland, Scotland, and in Celtic lands today. The Bay Area is lucky to have a number of spectacular local and traveling, professional singers of Irish, American, and British folk songs and we want to help them recreate that singing culture here in the Bay Area.

It is being lightly curated to start, by local artist Ameila Hogan, who sings in the Irish music tradition of Sean-Nós, or "old style," a highly lyrical solo a cappella style. You may have seen her at our St. Patrick’s Day parties and at the occasional Irish American Writers and Artists Salon here at the pub. She not only sings, but also plays the bodhran and a small 22-string Welsh lap harp, and she has toured internationally to global acclaim. Amelia got this idea at the Irish consulate’s holiday party in Dec. 2023, and has their support in launching An Londubh, so come and enjoy an evening of traditional tunes.
